Ways To Start A Wall Street Blog

By Martha Phillips

If investment and finance is what you're interested in, you may create a Wall Street blog to provide information on these. That way, you could document your knowledge and you could also share this to others who would also love to learn about it. Starting this is easy. You may choose to have your own domain or you may just settle for a subdomain at blogging sites. If you're not yet ready to spend, the latter is your best option.

Since investment and business is a large topic, it is best to narrow down your scope into a niche you know well and that people will be interested in. For example, instead of writing about everything about investment and business, you can choose your niche to be stock market. You may even narrow this further into long term investment or regular trading. This will help you focus the information you provide.

It is likely that you have already an abundant resource stored in your brain. This is great especially if people already know you to be an expert in the field. If you're just starting out and would like to share what you know, it is best if what you write is backed by information from experts and established finance sites. You may quote short snippets from articles or site them as references for further reading.

Introduce who you are to your audience. This will let them know you're an expert in your topic. This doesn't have to be a long bio with all of your educational and employment experience. State the most relevant ones and share why you've thought about writing about your chosen topics. If you are not yet an expert, do not pretend to be one. Be honest and tell your readers you are learning along with them.

For years, blogging experts have taught about writing your first five pillar posts. Initially, these will be the most informative articles on your site. As a standard, these are long articles that are well-researched and have information that your target readers will likely look for. Think about your experience when you were starting out. What topics were you searching for then?

Increase the content in your site by creating short articles frequently. It would be great if you could do this at least once a day. As much as possible, this content should still be useful to your readers. If you have not yet captured a regular audience, refrain from writing about your daily commute or your lunch unless something relevant happened.

If you already have enough number of posts, you can begin you link building activities. Look for relevant articles and share your opinion on them. Be sure to include a link to an informative article that you have written. You can also participate in forums. Some websites allow you to share your thoughts as an expert in exchange for exposure and bio.

Starting your own weblog is easy and quite inexpensive. Your greater expense will be the amount of time and effort that you will spend in growing the content and readership. Do not be discouraged if you only have a few readers initially. Everyone went through this stage. Just continue what you are doing and learn from the experts.
